Our working definition is
“(...) a dynamic, dyadic interaction over an extended period of time (days, weeks, or months) between two agents, at least one of whom is virtual, artificial, or inanimate, where both agents refer to and react to one another without the virtual agent resetting to zero in subsequent interactions.”
