The next talk in the AI Lecture Series at Ruhr University Bochum brings Prof. Regina Hebig (University of Rostock) to campus. Under the title “Don’t bother to use a second LLM for Test Generation”, she will explore current strategies for leveraging machine learning and large language models in software engineering – with a particular focus on code and test-case generation.

The event will be hosted by our Prof. Bilal Zafar and takes place on 27 November 2025, 10:00 CEST in the Open Space MC, with an option to join via Zoom.

Hebig, a leading researcher in software evolution, AI4SE, modelling, and software processes, has contributed over 90 peer-reviewed publications and has been active in organizing major international conferences. Her talk will offer insights into how the rapid adoption of LLMs is shifting both the possibilities and the practices of AI-supported software engineering.

The AI Lecture Series is a joint initiative of the Research Center Trustworthy Data Science and Security, ELLIS – European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems, the European Research Council (ERC), and the Faculty of Computer Science at Ruhr University Bochum.
