The EuADS Summer School 2025 is dedicated to the topic of Automated Data Science (AutoDS) and conveys central aspects of this field of research in a series of tutorials. In view of the increasing complexity of data projects and the limited availability of skilled labour, the (partial) automation of data-centric work processes is becoming increasingly important. AutoDS aims to make steps such as data pre-processing, feature engineering, model selection, evaluation and deployment more efficient and accessible - even for non-experts. Among other things, AutoML tools, automated visualisations and interpretability techniques are used.

Despite the advantages in efficiency and scalability, there are challenges, for example with context-dependent tasks, issues of model transparency, data quality and ethical aspects such as bias. These topics will be addressed in five tutorials by leading experts.

The Summer School is aimed at doctoral students, postdocs and researchers in early career phases with basic knowledge in data science, statistics, machine learning or related fields and an interest in interdisciplinary research.
