Since January 1, 2026, Ankur Bhatt has joined the Human-AI Interaction group led by Prof. Sven Mayer at RC Trust as a PhD researcher. With his background in artificial intelligence and his strong interest in human-centered technologies, he further strengthens the Center’s interdisciplinary research profile.
Ankur completed his Master’s degree at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau (formerly TU Kaiserslautern), where he specialized in Artificial Intelligence. Alongside his studies, he gained practical research experience as a student assistant (HiWi) at DFKI GmbH, a role he continued until February 2025. He then worked as a part-time researcher at DFKI GmbH until December 2025, further deepening his experience in applied AI research.
In his research, Ankur is particularly interested in improving how humans interact with AI systems. His focus areas include sensor-based technologies, eye-worn computing, natural language processing, and multilingual AI systems. These topics play an important role in developing technologies that are intuitive, inclusive, and adaptable to different users and contexts. At RC Trust, his work contributes to the broader goal of designing intelligent systems that support people in their everyday lives, professional environments, and decision-making processes.
The Human-AI Interaction group explores how people and machines can collaborate more effectively by combining methods from Human-Computer Interaction and Artificial Intelligence. Research projects range from augmented and virtual reality to mobile and interactive systems, always with a clear focus on human needs, usability, and societal relevance. Ankur’s research interests align closely with this mission and open up new perspectives on how AI can become more accessible and meaningful.
Beyond his academic work, Ankur enjoys staying active in his free time. He plays volleyball and beach volleyball and also enjoys horse riding – activities that balance his research work and reflect his open and collaborative mindset.
RC Trust warmly welcomes Ankur Bhatt and looks forward to his contributions to research, teaching, and the academic community at the Center.
