Since September 2024, Jonas Rieger - Postdoc at TU Dortmund University, Department of Statistics, Chair of Business and Social Statistics and Chair of Mathematical Sta­tis­tics and Applications in Science - receives funding for the joint project “Social (in)justice in the energy transition - from the digital debate to the living world” in cooperation with colleagues from the Öko-Institut e.V. Freiburg and the Evangelische Hochschule Freiburg.

At TU Dortmund University, he will supervise the sub-project “Monitoring narratives on the energy transition”. The aim of the joint project is to better understand the lines of argumentation in the debate on the role of social (in)justice in the energy transition, while in the sub-project they develop a methodological analytical framework both for retrospective questions and for the ongoing monitoring of narratives on the energy transition.

The project has a duration of 30 months and a total funding volume of around €570,000, with the sub-project at TU Dortmund being funded with around €100,000. The funding is provided by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
