The Compliant & Accountable Systems group works at the intersection of computer science and law. Taking a human-centred computing approach, we consider the mechanisms by which technology can be better designed, engineered and deployed to accord with legal, regulatory and digital rights concerns, and to better ground policy/regulatory discussions on
the realities of technical ecosystems. Broadly, we take an interdisciplinary, socio-technical and collaborative approach towards issues of governance, audit, rights, security, privacy, safety and trust regarding emerging and data-driven technologies.
