Call for papers: 3rd World Conference on eXplainable AI

About the conference:

The World Conference on Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) is an annual event that brings together researchers, academics and professionals to share knowledge, perspectives and innovations in the field of explainable AI. It has an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary focus and brings together experts from research and representatives from industry.

The growing importance of explainable AI results from the increasing complexity of AI-generated models and legal requirements at national and international level. This is reflected both in the research literature and in the public debate. The European Union's AI Act in particular emphasizes the role of XAI in solving key AI challenges.

Call for papers:

The conference organisation encourages submissions related to eXplainable AI and contributions from academia, industry, and other organizations discussing open challenges or novel research approaches related to the explainability and interpretability of AI systems. Topics include, and are not limited to:

• Technical methods for XAI
• Ethical Considerations for XAI
• Psychological Notions & concepts for XAI
• Social examinations of XAI
• Legal & administrative considerations of/for XAI
• Safety & security approaches for XAI
• Applications of XAI-based systems

Submitted manuscripts must be novel and must not significantly overlap with existing research. They must be written in Springer LNCS format, preferably in LaTeX, but Word files are also accepted. All submissions and reviews are done electronically via EasyChair. Parallel submissions to other publications are not permitted.
When registering, the contact person must provide the title, author name, affiliations, address, e-mail and at least three keywords. There is no fixed number of pages, but the following guidelines apply:

    Full articles: 12-24 pages (incl. references)
    Short articles: 8-12 pages (incl. references)

Article upload deadline on submission platform (easy-chair): February, 15, 2025
Paper bidding for reviewers February 15-18, 2025
Notification of acceptance*: March, 7th, 2025
Registration (payment) and camera-ready* (upload to easy-chair): March, 7th, 2025
Article presentation instructions notification June, 2025
Accepted article presentation (at xAI-2025) beginning of July, 2025 (to be confirmed)
Publication (Springer CCIS series) September/October, 2025
